Susan Moon, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Moon has devoted her career to serving the people and pets of the Whitehaven area. Originally from Jonesboro, Arkansas, she received her Doctorate from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. She began work at Brooks Road Animal Hospital immediately after graduating in the summer of 1984.

When asked about her tenure, Dr. Moon says, “Memphis and Whitehaven are where I belong. I love the authenticity and the energy. I love that I am often privileged to see the pets of 3 generations of local families.”

Dr. Moon is married to Mark Weaver, and has three adult children, three (so far) grandchildren, and a Labrador named Piper. She is active in her church, and enjoys reading, knitting, hiking, and traveling. She has served the profession as a past president of the Tennessee Veterinary Medical Association and currently represents Tennessee veterinarians in the American Veterinary Medical Association’s House of Delegates.

Paige Underwood, DVM

Dr. Paige Underwood grew up in Indiana before attending the University of Missouri for her undergraduate studies. She continued her education at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine and received her Doctorate in 2021.

Her professional interests include soft tissue surgery and dentistry. In her free time, Dr. Underwood enjoys all things outdoors, fitness, reading, and spending time with her English Bulldog, Butter.

Shawn Barnett

Practice Manager

Shawn has been a part of the Brooks Road Animal Hospital Team from 1989 to the present. Beginning her career at 18 years old, she has filled all positions, including kennel assistant, Veterinary Assistant, CSR, and currently Practice Manager.

She prides herself on her ability to connect with patients. She has had many fearful patients, and she is able to gain their trust and affection by the end of the visit. She takes care of all the needs of the patient and can sense subtle changes in prognosis. No detail is too small, and every patient is a priority.

In her free time, she enjoys working out at the gym, spending time with lifelong girlfriends, and hang out with my dog, cat, and chickens.
